Light Weight Insulating Concrete roof decks have been around for almost 100 years.
The single factor for this longevity is the fact that the roof deck should last the life of the building. There are several other factors including superior wind resistance in hurricane zones & fire resistance for buildings such as schools, hospitals, and hotels.
SLOPE
Slope to drain especially when slope in the structure is not provided
THERMAL
R-value or thermal resistance which is becoming increasingly important to meet Energy Codes
GREEN
Sustainable, durable, green, carbon friendly
TECTUM® ACOUSTICAL ROOF DECKS
Tectum Acoustical Roof Deck Systems, from Armstrong Building Solutions, provide excellent sound absorption and come in a variety of configurations to meet building design needs. Tectum is composed of rapidly renewable FSC-certified aspen wood fiber that is bonded with an inorganic hydraulic cement. Structural composite panel options provide predictable acoustical performance, R-values up to 44, spans up to 12 feet and a nailable top surface for direct application of the roof. Tectum can create a Noise Reduction Coefficient (NRC) up to 0.80. Tectum is the ideal noise control solution for Gymnasiums, arenas, auditoriums, and educational facilities.
